Cannabis Pathway a Big Success

Our June 14 Pathway Session with Kate Appleman, LPC, Caron, was a big success. Some of the highlights included: 1) Kate reviewed the latest studies on cannabis use, including ones that associate occasional THC use with increased risk of psychiatric disorders; 2) Clinical factors that promote recovery including motivational interviewing and contingency management; 3) Effective boundary-setting and how it can move a loved one through the Stages of Change.
Kate’s experience as Director of Clinical Practice and Development at Caron was helpful. She was able to clearly delineate between evidence-based approaches to promoting recovery and speculation on approaches that may help but also might be risky. Feel free to review the video replay here and Kate’s slide deck here.
