The Power of Storytelling: The Art of Influential Communication, by Ty Bennett

The August 29, 2024 New Canaan Vigil was a success because of storytelling, specifically through our
line-up of speakers who shared their recovery journeys in a very open and authentic way. They all
received standing ovations because of what we called “The Power of Story”, or in Ty Bennett’s book The
Power of Storytelling. Neuroscientists have proven long ago that people who hear relatable stories are
more motivated and inspired to take action than if they just heard facts. While Ty’s book is geared
toward presentation storytelling for business, the concepts can be applied to the vulnerable storytelling
that NCPSG promotes and WILL promote in the future.
“There is a natural storytelling urge and ability in all human beings…”
Ty Bennett, The Power of Storytelling
