The Stages of Change Model by Prochaska & DiClemente is a well-researched model of the process of change that has profound significance for practitioners who work with individuals with Substance Use Disorders. Using discussion and demonstration, the presentation will focus predominantly on the most challenging stages, pre-contemplation and contemplation.
The presenter is Dr. Frank Bartolomeo, who has been intrigued about clinical practice with individuals who reject help. He is a psychotherapist, speaker and program consultant with over 30 years’ experience. He maintains a private practice in Wilton, and is the Director of Behavioral Health Services at the Southfield Center for Development in Darien. His clinical interests are focused on adolescent/young adult mental and behavioral health, group work, and addiction & recovery.
